An Umbrella and Silk Scarf for the Large Hadron Collider Exhibition at the Museum
I was asked to devise some products to accompany an exhibition all about CERN and the hunt for the Higgs Boson. I came across an amazing image of the CMS detector, one of the four detectors at the LHC. The shape of the image fitted perfectly with the shape of an umbrella, and the colours provide an attractive, abstract-looking image that fades to black at the edges of the umbrella. Only those in the know, would recognise the image as part of the most expensive and complicated scientific undertaking in history. To accompany the umbrella, I also used the image on a silk scarf, which has become the biggest seller.
